Sienna Miller's family so excited as she nears due date

It’s an exciting time for Sienna Miller.
The British actress is heavily pregnant with her first baby – thought to be due in July – and her friends and family can hardly wait to meet the new arrival.
Blossoming Sienna was the main attraction when she stepped out with some of her girls at a book launch in London this week.
Stepmother Kelly Hoppen could barely keep her hands off Sienna’s burgeoning baby bump as she fussed over the mum-to-be.
Also enjoying an afternoon out with the pregnant star were her older sister Savannah and Kelly’s daughter Natasha Corrett.
The ladies had teamed up to support Natasha, a gourmet chef specialising in organic food, at the unveiling of her healthy lifestyle guide.
With weeks to go before she becomes a mum, the blonde beauty has undoubtedly been relying on the support and expertise of her sister, with whom she is very close.
Savannah is herself a mother of three children, one of them baby daughter Bali joined her mum on the girls' day out.
It was at the start of the year that reports first emerged that Sienna was expecting a baby with 26-year-old English actor Tom Sturridge, best known for his role in The Boat That Rocked.
She confirmed the happy news in an interview with British Vogue in March, saying that her pregnancy was "progressing nicely" and that she was in her second trimester.
Sienna and Tom, who are thought to be engaged, have been dating for over a year following the actress’ split from Jude Law in January 2011.
And earlier this month, they were spotted enjoying a romantic 'babymoon' together in Italy looking very much in love.
Ahead of the holiday, Sienna, 30 spoke about her excitement, saying: "I’m going on holiday soon, which will be lovely; it’s a pre-baby, last hurrah trip.
"I'm in the mood for lying on a beach, reading a lot of books and a bit of culture," she told InStyle.
"I like being able to walk into an old town and find good local food."

Excited action hero Chris ready for his biggest role

At the UK premiere of The Avengers, Chris Hemsworth was supposed to be promoting his appearance as action man Thor in the film.
But with his heavily pregnant  wife Elsa Pataky by his side, the proud dad-to-be was more focused on his upcoming role as a father.
The Australian actor lovingly patted the Spanish beauty's tummy on the red carpet.
Their new arrival will be a 'niece' or 'nephew' for Miley Cyrus – who dates Chris' actor brother, Liam Hemsworth.
Chris shot  to fame after portraying muscle-bound Marvel character Thor in the 2011 blockbuster.
Now he is back in The Avengers – an ensemble piece uniting a group of superheroes including Iron Man, played by Robert Downey Jr.
Scarlett Johansson also reprises her role as Russian spy Natasha Romanoff, whose alter-ego is the feisty heroine Black Widow.
Speaking at the premiere, the curvaceous 27-year-old admitted sticking to a gruelling fitness regime so she could fit into her unforgiving costume.
"How come I get the rabbit food question?" she joked with reporters before adding: "Yes, surely. You're training and doing all that stunt work so you eat a lot of green things."

Jennifer Lopez: 'I'm not sure I'll marry again'

With an unmistakable glow as she walks hand in hand with her new man, Jennifer Lopez is clearly on top of the world.
But the Jenny from the Block singer is apparently happy with the way things are – for now.
J-Lo admitted she isn't sure whether she will marry again, after the recent break up of her marriage with latino singer Marc Anthony.
The singer, actress and American Idol judge – who has been married three times – is currently dating backing singer Casper Smart, 24, but said she doesn't know if she will ever take a trip down the aisle again.
When asked about marriage on America's The Today Show, she replied:
"I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. We'll see. I mean, I don't know."
The 42-year-old continued:
"It's not time to think about that yet. It's still fresh."
The star also discussed the fact she is still working with her estranged husband, the father of her three-year-old twins Max and Emme, on their Latin-American talent show Q'Viva! The Chosen.
"Marc and I were friends before we got married. We were friends for years, and we always loved each other.
"And we always worked together, so it wasn't an unnatural thing for us to continue working together.
"And, obviously, we have children together, so it's not going to be like he's not in my life. He's always going to be in my life."
Jen was married to waiter Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998 and to dancer Cris Judd from 2001 until their divorce in 2003.
She exchanged vows with salsa king Anthony in 2004 but last year they announced they were splitting after seven years.

'We're all really happy': Savannah confirms sister Sienna's pregnancy

Sienna Miller’s family have confirmed that the actress and her boyfriend Tom Sturridge are expecting a baby together – and they are thrilled with the news.

“She is doing really well and we are all really happy about it, Tom is an amazing guy,” her sister Savannah told Vogue.

However, the 30-year-old's step-mother Kelly Hoppen has denied any speculation that Tom, 25, has popped the question.

"Sienna is definitely not engaged or getting married, and she is pregnant," she told the Evening Standard.

Rumours have been circulating for weeks that the Alfie star was expecting.

And she is bound to be delighted, having previously expressed her desire to have children.

”I really want bubbies — I always have,” she said a few years ago.

”I mean, I’m nearly 27 and you have to think about these things, don’t you?”

Referring to her sister who has two children with husband Nick Scanner, she added: “And Sav proves you can work and be a mum. It still scares me, though.”

Despite feeling nerves, the blonde beauty has plenty of experience.

She became a mother figure to Jude Law’s three children from Sadie Frost during their relationship and has no doubt got in some practice with Savannah’s two little ones.

Sienna and Tom met when they were appearing in separate plays in London; he in Simon Stephen’s Wastwater and she in Terence Rattigan’s Flare Path.

Tom is best known for his role in brit flick The Boat That Rocked. Since filming On The Road in 2010, he has been taking a break from the acting world.

It is thought that the pair have been dating for less than a year.

Meanwhile, it has also been confirmed that the successful sister design duo are stepping down as co-creative directors of fashion label Twenty8Twelve.

The staff at the Westbourne Grove branch of the label revealed that the actress had left in order "to concentrate on the baby".

However, Savannah denied that the pair's decision to leave was due to family issues.

'What a way to get back!': Adele 'can't wait' to perform at Grammys

It’s been several months since Adele stepped out of the spotlight to have surgery on her vocal cords.

But following a full recovery, she's now ready to make her musical comeback at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 12.

And the Someone Like You singer is looking forward to the big night: “'Ima be, Ima be singing at the Grammys. It's been so long I started to forget I was a singer! I can't wait, speak soon xx” she tweeted.

In a press release Adele added: "I’m immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year’s Grammy Awards.

"It’s an absolute honour to be included in such a night, and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-wracking, but what a way to get back into it all!”

She underwent an operation in the US in early November after being diagnosed with a vocal cord haemorrhage, which could have wrecked her singing voice forever.

Also due to perform at the Brit Awards a week later, Adele is up for six Grammys including Record of the Year (21) and Song of the Year (Rolling in the Deep).

Youthful looking 'Dallas' cast roll back the years

On screen they were always embroiled in high drama and epic power struggles, but on Sunday the cast of Dallas called a truce to present an award at the Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Time seemed to have stood still for Linda Gray, who was known to viewers of the iconic show as Sue Ellen. She looked far younger than her 71 years in an elegant white gown.

The evergreen beauty was flanked by her co-stars Larry  Hagman, her on-screen husband J.R, and Patrick Duffy, who was his brother Bobby.

And Patrick, especially, seems to have only improved with age, becoming a something of a silver fox.

The trio are back in business to promote the show, which is making a comeback on TNT later this year.

The modern Dallas will pick up where the story left off two decades ago and focus on the younger generations as they tussle for success in the family company.

Jesse Metcalfe and Josh Henderson are lined up to play the feuding offspring of Bobby and J.R.

David Furnish: 'Madonna's Globe win was a fluke'

David Furnish thinks Madonna may have won her Golden Globe for Best Song because she agreed to turn up to the event and present an award.

David Furnish has questioned if Madonna won a Golden Globe because she agreed to present an award.

The Canadian director, who is married to Sir Elton John - who was also nominated in the Best Song category at the event on Sunday (15.01.12) - does not think she should have picked up the prize because no one has heard the song 'Masterpiece' from her directorial debut 'W.E.'.

He is quoted by the New York Post newspaper as saying: "I think it was a fluke. When this happens you have to question the integrity of the awards. Did Madonna get the Golden Globe because she attended the awards and agreed to be a presenter?

"Can you sing Madonna's song? Can you hum it? It's a song nobody has heard from a film few have seen. The award should have gone to Mary J. Blige or Elton."

Can you sing Madonna's song? Can you hum it? It's a song nobody has heard from a film few have seen. The award should have gone to Mary J. Blige or Elton.

Despite his comments, David went on to praise Madonna's music - but took a swipe at her movie-making skills.

He added: "I like Madonna's music, but not her movies. She should stick to what she is good at."

Writing on Facebook immediately after the Golden Globes, an angry David claimed Madonna was "embarrassing" and "desperate".

He wrote: "Madonna. Best song???? F**k off!!!

"Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in it's narcissism. And her critisism ofGaga shows how desperate she really is. (sic)"

Jackson family drops restitution bid

The family of late singer Michael Jackson have dropped their $100 million restitution bid against Dr. Conrad Murray.

The family of late singer Michael Jackson have dropped their restitution bid against Dr. Conrad Murray.

Relatives of the 'Thriller' hitmaker - including his parents Joe and Katherine and children Prince, 14, Paris, 13, and nine-year-old Prince Michael II, who is known as Blanket - had been seeking $100 million damages from the medic but have now decided not to pursue the claim because the doctor is close to being broke and his medical licence has been revoked.

As a result, the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office have cancelled a hearing which was set for Monday (23..01.12),

We informed Judge Pastor that the Jackson family is not seeking restitution and asked that the matter be taken off the calendar.

District Attorney's Office spokeswoman Jane Robison told E! News: "We informed Judge Pastor that the Jackson family is not seeking restitution and asked that the matter be taken off the calendar."

The Jacksons initially argued that Murray - who was convicted of the involuntary manslaughter of the star in November - should make up for the projected earnings from Michael's 'This Is It' 50-date London residency, scheduled to start just weeks after his death from acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009.

However, during the medic's sentencing, even prosecutors conceded it would be impossible for Murray to repay $100 million and he filed paperwork last month saying he is almost bankrupt and can't pay $1.8 million in funeral expenses.

Murray is currently serving a four-year jail term over Michael's death, but is expected to be released in just over two years due to overcrowding in the California state prison system.

Jay-Z has thrown a lavish party at his 40/40 nightclub in New York to celebrate the birth of his and Beyonce Knowles' baby Blue Ivy.

Jay-Z has thrown a lavish party to celebrate the birth of his baby.

The rapper made his first public appearance since Blue Ivy - his daughter with wife Beyonce Knowles - was born earlier this month - at the relaunch of his New York nightspot 40/40 and he partied in style.

The 42-year-old star laid on a champagne tower created with 350 handmade gold Armand de Brignac bottles that stretched from floor to ceiling and was topped with a baby-carrying stork.

A source said: "All that preparation must have been thirsty work - judging from the champagne tower Jay laid on. Nothing like that has ever been created before.

It was a bit OTT but he's mad about his daughter. There's nothing he wouldn't do for her. You'd expect nothing less from the richest man in rap.

"It was a bit OTT but he's mad about his daughter. There's nothing he wouldn't do for her. You'd expect nothing less from the richest man in rap."

A number of celebrity guests were invited to the party including Alex Rodriguez, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz and members of the New Jersey Nets basketball team and New York Yankees baseball team, while singer Ashanti, baseball star C. C. Sabathia and director Spike Lee were all spotted arriving at the bash.

However, the security-conscious star had taken steps to ensure no unwanted guests made an appearance.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "No wonder security was tight. A lot of money has been pumped into Jay's club, with state of the art 165in video screens, and they weren't about to take any risks with gate-crashers.

"Security was phenomenal, with guests being frisked at the door and people going through metal detectors to make sure no weapons were brought in for the club's grand re-opening."

Joan Collins' diva demands

Joan Collins admits she is a ''total diva'' and always insists on pink dressing rooms.

Joan Collins insists her dressing rooms are painted pink.

The 78-year-old actress - who is married to 46-year-old Percy Gibson - admits she can be a "total diva" and always has a specific list of demands.

She told Closer magazine: "I'm a total diva in real life. I'm very difficult - ask anybody.

"I always have my dressing room painted pink and full of Evian."

I always have my dressing room painted pink and full of Evian.

Joan also admitted she is not a fan of cosmetic surgery procedures or Botox injections and credits her own youthful looks to good skincare.

She said: "I never go to bed without taking off my make-up and applying night cream. I've been doing it for 400 years!

"Botox is poison - they don't even know the long-term effects yet. With facelifts, I've seen some good and bad ones, but having plastic surgery in your 20s is sad and dangerous."

Joan has previously stated she believes sex is an important factor to keep looking young.

She said: "Let's not forget the importance of sex when it comes to looking and feeling good. Many of the world's most celebrated women have been sexually active well into middle age and beyond. The great French actress Sarah Bernhardt, and the legendary designer Coco Chanel, both had lovers well into their later lives. It is every adult's prerogative to enjoy sex (although young people may not agree). It delights me to read about a couple marrying in their 80s, or discovering a lost love from 50 years ago. Romance never dies - if you believe in it."

Kardashian family magazine shelved

Plans for a magazine about the Kardashian family have reportedly been shelved because proposed publishers AMI were unhappy with Kris Jenner's demands.

Plans for a Kardashian family magazine have reportedly been shelved because of Kris Jenner's demands.

The showbiz matriarch reportedly infuriated prospective publishers American Media Inc. (AMI) with her request for approval on stories about her family across all their other publications, which include Shape, Star, National Enquirer and Radar Online.

Though in return Kris allegedly offered to give all of the family's news to the proposed magazine, AMI rejected the deal, arguing that though E! have a deal for their television shows, other outlets often get better stories about the clan,

AMI chief David Pecker made it clear that there was no way he was going to tell his editors what stories they could and couldn't do.

A source told the New York Post newspaper: "AMI chief David Pecker made it clear that there was no way he was going to tell his editors what stories they could and couldn't do."

In return, Kris pulled all Kardashian-related product advertisements from Star magazine.

However, a spokesperson for the reality TV star insisted no conversation about her "demands" had taken place but she was unhappy over false claims made regarding the paternity of daughter Khloe.

The representative said: "Kris has never had a conversation with AMI regarding this issue [of her demands]. But, the allegations contained in the Star article about Khloe not being a Kardashian are completely fabricated, false and untrue. Robert Kardashian is absolutely her biological father, so of course she was upset over their story."

Nick said: "I love theatre and I understand the difference between acting and who you are as a person. I don't know that it's something I would've done in the end, but I definitely would've considered it. You have to be open to everything."

They also give really good gifts at our meet-and-greets -- hats, scarves, and other things. They always have good taste.

The 19-year-old hunk is particularly grateful for his gay fans because they always give good gifts and have "good taste".

He told Advocate magazine: "We love our gay fans. It was definitely cool when we realised that, because the more you can grow your audience, the more people you can impact. They've been incredible over the years. My brothers and I totally look forward to meeting them, because they really respond to our style, and it's cool to see how our influence has impacted what they're wearing.

The 'Halo' hitmaker gave birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter - her first child with rapper husband Jay-Z - at the Lenox Hill Hospital in New York on Saturday (07.01.11) and proud aunt Solange took to twitter yesterday (08.01.11) to reveal her delight.

She tweeted: "The most beautiful girl in the world."

the most beautiful girl in the world

After initial confusion over the tot's name, with initial reports claiming it was Ivy Blue, Gwyneth Paltrow confirmed the correct moniker on the micro-blogging site.

The actress - who along with her husband Chris Martin is close friends with Jay-Z and Beyonce - wrote: "Welcome to the world Blue! We love you already. (sic)"

Following an inquiry from a confused user who wrote : "Is it ivy blue, or blue ivy? so confused", Gwyneth replied "It's Blue Ivy Carter!"

Jay - real name Shawn Carter - was by his wife's side as she delivered the tot via Caesarean section, after checking in under the pseudonym Ingrid Jackson and they are thought to have paid $1.3 million to rent out the entire fourth floor of the hospital.

Security was tight at Lenox Hill Hospital with staff reportedly being asked to turn in their phones and security cameras were covered with tape.

I was carrying my daughter Vivienne down the hill and I slipped. It was either her or me.

She said: "Vivie's OK. She was absolutely fine."

The 'Tourist' actress admitted she liked Brad's new adornment and insisted his injury has not slowed him down.

Speaking on the red carpet at the 23rd International Palm Springs Film Festival in California, she said: "I like the cane. He's not that kind of guy. He does everything still."

The brunette beauty - who raises six children with Brad - admitted she has also suffered injuries caring for their kids.

She recalled: "I think all parents get injured in the line of fire. When Maddox was young, I fell and hurt my elbow. It's a pretty common occurrence."

The couple were not planning on enjoying any after-parties at the festival because of their family commitments.

Angelina explained: "We are rushing back to the kids tonight. We have a birthday party in the morning with our daughter."

David Thewlis' expensive giraffe

David Thewlis has revealed he initially wanted to close his short film 'Hello, Hello, Hello' with a shot of a giraffe, but couldn't afford it.

David Thewlis once spent £2,000 on a camel for a scene in a film - because he couldn't afford a giraffe.

The British actor, director and author originally wanted to close his short film 'Hello, Hello, Hello' with a shot of an ostrich running down a road, but noted it had already been done by another director, making him initially set his sights higher, and wanted to hire a giraffe.

He explained: "I couldn't afford a giraffe. Four thousand pounds it was to get a giraffe. But I could get a camel for £2,000. And it was a beautiful camel. I expected a scraggy-looking thing to turn up, but on the night they said, 'The camel's here, David,' and I turned around and thought 'Ah!' because it was gorgeous."

It was supposed to be something much stranger. It was supposed to be very inspired by Bunuel, but you'd struggle to see that.

David has since made one full length film, 'Cheeky', but admits the end result wasn't quite what he had hoped.

He added: "I'd directed a short film, and I really enjoyed it. And then I wrote 'Cheeky', and I was never meant to direct that.

"But I got persuaded to direct it, and persuaded to be in it, and that was never the plan. I didn't have a very good time and I don't like the finished product. I think it's rubbish. Well, it's not rubbish, but it's not what it was supposed to be.

On New Year's Eve (31.12.11), she tweeted: "Next year is mostly about my new record, being a good person and my first marathon. Really grateful for my life."

News of the split comes three months after Ellie moved out of Greg's home.

The 'Starry Eyed' singer decided to leave the apartment she was sharing with Greg as they thought it would help keep the relationship exciting.

A source said "They're doing what's best for them, and they're happy to have their own places at the moment. They're definitely still together."

Justin Bieber talks to God

Justin Bieber talks directly to God.

The 17-year-old pop superstar is a Christian and believes there is a higher power guiding everyone's lives, but he doesn't go to church to affirm his faith and instead focuses on praying to God in private.

He told V magazine: "A lot of people who are religious, I think they get lost. They go to church just to go to church. I'm not trying to disrespect them ... but for me, I focus more on praying and talking to Him. I don't have to go to church."

A lot of people who are religious, I think they get lost. They go to church just to go to church. I'm not trying to disrespect them ... but for me, I focus more on praying and talking to Him. I don't have to go to church.

Although he doesn't go to a place of worship, the 'Baby' singer recently got a tattoo of Jesus Christ's face on his left calf and showed it off during a trip to a Los Angeles beach.

In the interview, Justin - who is dating 19-year-old star Selena Gomez - also complained that as he has got more successful and famous he has become a target for people.

He added: "Now that I'm on top, everyone wants to bring me down ... Everyone's trying to tug at me and take my spot. Like Floyd Mayweather, he's the best boxer in the world. Now he is a champion. Every time he goes to a fight now, people are like, 'He's going to lose this time.' "

Justin was stunned last year when a 20-year-old fan, Mariah Yeater, accused him of being the father of her baby Tristyn, a claim which he vehemently denied and is yet unproven.

Katherine Jenkins cried on stage at the weekend.

The singer announced in December she and TV presenter Gethin Jones were separating and the pain of the split proved too much for her to cope with as she kicked off the first night of her UK tour in Oxford, Middle England, on Saturday night (07.01.12).

As she performed her song 'Your Silhouette', which includes the lines "lying in your empty bed" and "clinging to a memory of you", Katherine turned away from the audience and was comforted by her musical director Anthony Inglis.

Katherine received two standing ovations for her performance and told the crowd at the New Theatre she had not been sure if she should perform at all.

The 31-year-old star was not wearing the £10,000 engagement ring given to her by Gethin for the performance.

The couple both announced their split on twitter on December 30. Katherine told fans: "Sorry for being quiet of late, its just that I have some very sad news. Geth & I have decided to go our separate ways. We are both beyond broken hearted. All your hugs & support will be much appreciated xxx (sic)"

Jones told his followers: "Hi everybody. I'm deeply sad to tell you that Kath and I have ended our relationship as a couple. We are both heart broken... Gx."

Katy Perry has thanked fans for their support following her split from Russell Brand.

The 'Firework' hitmaker - who broke up with the actor on December 30, 2011 when he filed for divorce - took to her twitter account after a two-week break to pay tribute to her supporters and reassure them she has a "happy heart" again.

She tweeted yesterday (08.01.12): "I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again."

The pop star - whose last twitter entry was on December 27 - also insisted she is the only person who speaks for herself after her evangelical mother and father spoke about the split last week.

I am so grateful for all the love and support I've had from people around the world. You guys have made my heart happy again.

She tweeted: "Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, "close sources" or my family."

Last week, Katy's parents Christian pastors Keith and Mary Hudson spoke about the pair's break up for the first time from the pulpit of their church.

Mary said: "I'm sure that Katy's trending on the Internet was to get you here to church tonight.

"I mean all over the world, who knows how God is bringing them in? The most important thing is you are here and God wants to put the fire in you in 2012."

Since filing for divorce, Russell has been residing in the UK, while Katy has been staying with her grandmother in Santa Barbara.

Lindsay Lohan has a new tattoo to mark a "great point in her life".

The troubled actress - who has endured several stints in rehab and various legal woes in recent years - visited a Los Angeles tattoo parlour on Friday (06.01.12) to get 'Live Without Regrets' etched on her left wrist, and friends told website TMZ she wanted the inking to remind her of how good she is feeling at the moment.

The insider claimed Lindsay is particularly excited about March 29, the date she will finally finish her stint of court ordered community service which she was made to undertake after breaching the terms of probation which were set following a 2007 driving under the influence conviction.

On her inner right wrist, Lindsay has the word 'Breathe', close to where she had the Marilyn Monroe quote 'I restore myself when I'm alone' inked after splitting from Samantha Ronson in 2009.

She also has 'La Bella Vita' etched on her back.

Madonna used to "loiter like some weirdo" in front of the building where Wallis Simpson used to live.

The singer is making her directorial debut with 'W.E', about the American mistress of King George VI whom he gave up the throne to marry in 1936, and admits the building where she used live in London fascinated her.

She told Sunday Times Culture magazine: "I filmed right around the corner and I did often go in front of her building and just stand around and loiter, like some weirdo, hoping to pick up something left in the air, some kind of magic left behind.

I tried to imagine the king driving up every day for cocktails. And it turned out my daughter's best friend lives in that building, so I was able to go inside.

Madonna – who married British director Guy Ritchie and moved to England in 2000 - also said she felt she could "relate" to Wallis' situation.

She added: "I could relate to her feeling an outsider. I think Id' moved here and got married and had to start my life all over again. I felt like I didn't know anybody, and had no circle of friends, so there must have been an unconscious connection there."

'W.E.' is in cinemas from January 20.

Paula Abdul has split from her boyfriend.

The 'X Factor' judge and Jeff Bratton called time on their 18 month relationship in November and the record label owner has revealed it was due to work commitments.

He said: "Paula and I split in November. It was an amicable thing. But between the final months of 'X Factor' and my responsibilities with (my label) Cascine, there was little time for us."

The distance in their relationship is also said to have been a contributing factor, with Paula based in Los Angeles, while Jeff spends most of his time in New York.

Paula and I split in November. It was an amicable thing. But between the final months of 'X Factor' and my responsibilities with (my label) Cascine, there was little time for us.

The pair first met on a flight in 2010, but always made a joint effort to keep their romance out of the spotlight.

And Jeff is adamant he and Paula are still on good terms.

He explained: "We're still close. And I'll always be grateful for the time we shared as a couple."

Paula, 49, isn't the only judge on the new US version of 'The X Factor' to split from their boyfriend.

Nicole Scherzinger and her partner, Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton, ended their four year relationship in October due to work pressures.

However, the pair spent New Year's Eve (31.12.11) together at a ski resort in Vail, Colorado, and have both admitted since the break-up that they still have very strong feelings for one another.

Tom Hiddleston "nearly wept, laughed and cried," when offered the starring role in 'War Horse'.

The 31-year-old actor was shocked when director Steven Spielberg called asking to meet him about his World War I epic, and found himself even more taken aback when he was offered the role straight away.

He explained to The Independent newspaper: "I remember going home and thinking 'What is happening to my life? How did I get here? I'm about to meet one of my heroes! Don't f**k it up!'

"[When he then offered me the part] I nearly whooped, wept, laughed and cried."

Tom's profile has risen fast, with him appearing in 'The Deep Blue Sea', 'Unrelated' and then as villain Loki in 'Thor', which led on to a tie-in part in 'The Avengers', in which he got to meet some of the biggest stars in Hollywood - although he found it "bizarre" to see them in costume.

He added: "There was one day when, as Loki, I was sat on some steps, staring at the Avengers in front of me. It would be quite odd just to look at a grouping that involves Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Samuel L Jackson, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Chris Hemsworth.

"But the fact that they were dressed in the most outlandish hero costumes was bizarre! And I thought to myself, 'This is the dizzy heights.'"

Her father was Richard Beckinsale, born in Nottingham, England. He starred in a number of popular British television comedies during the 1970s, most notably the series "Rising Damp" (1974), "Porridge" (1974) and "The Lovers" (1970). He passed away tragically early in 1979 at the age of 31.

Kate attended the private school Godolphin and Latymer School in London for her grade and primary school education. In her teens she twice won the British bookseller W.H. Smith Young Writers' competition - once for three short stories and once for three poems. After a tumultuous adolescence (a bout of anorexia - cured - and a smoking habit which continues to this day), she gradually took up the profession of acting.

Her major acting debut came in a TV film about World War II called One Against the Wind (1991) (TV), filmed in Luxembourg during the summer of 1991. It first aired on American television that December. Kate began attending Oxford University's New College in the fall of 1991, majoring in French and Russian literature. She had already decided that she wanted to act, but to broaden her horizons she chose university over drama school. While in her first year at Oxford, Kate received her big break in Kenneth Branagh's film adaptation of William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing (1993). Kate worked in three other films while attending Oxford, beginning with a part in the medieval historical drama Prince of Jutland (1994), cast as Ethel. The film was shot during the spring of 1993 on location in Denmark, and she filmed her supporting part during New College's Easter break. Later in the summer of that year she played the lead in the contemporary mystery drama Uncovered (1995). Before she went back to school, her third year at university was spent at Oxford's study-abroad program in Paris, France, immersing herself in the French language, Parisian culture and French cigarettes.

A year away from the academic community and living on her own in the French capital caused her to re-evaluate the direction of her life. She faced a choice: continue with school or concentrate on her flourishing acting career. After much thought, she chose the acting career. In the spring of 1994 Kate left Oxford, after finishing three years of study. Kate appeared in the BBC/Thames Television satire Cold Comfort Farm (1995) (TV), filmed in London and East Sussex during late summer 1994 and which opened to spectacular reviews in the United States, grossing over $5 million during its American run. It was re-released to U.K. theaters in the spring of 1997.

Acting on the stage consumed the first part of 1995; she toured in England with the Thelma Holts Theatre Company production of Anton Chekhov's "The Seagull". After turning down several mediocre scripts "and going nearly berserk with boredom", she waited seven months before another interesting role was offered to her. Her big movie of 1995 was the romance/horror movie Haunted (1995), starring opposite Aidan Quinn and John Gielgud, and filmed in West Sussex. In this film she wanted to play "an object of desire", unlike her past performances where her characters were much less the siren and more the worldly innocent. Kate's first film project of 1996 was the British ITV production of Jane Austen's novel Emma (1996) (TV). Her last film of 1996 was the comedy Shooting Fish (1997), filmed at Shepperton Studios in London during early fall. She played the part of Georgie, an altruistic con artist. She had a daughter, Lily, in 1999 with actor Michael Sheen.

Was listed as a potential nominee on both the 2005 and 2007 Razzie Award nominating ballots. She was listed as a suggestion in the Worst Actress category on the 2005 ballot for her performance in the film Van Helsing (2004) and again two years later in the same category for her roles in the films Click (2006/I) and Underworld: Evolution (2006). She failed to receive either nomination.

"I look at how Keira Knightley is coiffed when she attends events. I remember going to Cannes with Much Ado About Nothing (1993) when I was 18, and nobody told me, 'Oh, here's a make-up artist or, 'This person wants to dress you, what clothes are you wearing?' It just wasn't like that when I started. Nobody even told me I could bring a friend! I just sort of showed up in a very expensive pair of trousers I bought in Harvey Nichols, and something I bought in the Sock Shop at the airport. But Keira Knightley has like full hair and make- up and a proper outfit and I think, 'Wow, she's not going to have the before photos I had to endure!' She's really lucky".

About: Ask Kate Winslet what she liked about any of her characters, and the word "ballsy" is bound to pop up at least once. The British actress has made a point of eschewing straightforward pretty-girl parts in favor of more devilish damsels; as a result, she's built an eclectic resume; that runs the gamut from Shakespearean tragedy to modern-day mysticism and erotica.

Born into a family of thespians -- parents Roger Winslet and Sally Bridges-Winslet were both stage actors, maternal grandparents Oliver and Linda Bridges ran the Reading Repertory Theatre, and uncle Robert Bridges was a fixture in London's West End theatre district -- Kate came into her talent at an early age. She scored her first professional gig at 11, dancing opposite the Honey Monster in a commercial for a kids' cereal. She started acting lessons around the same time, which led to formal training at a performing arts high school. Over the next few years she appeared on stage regularly and landed a few bit parts in sitcoms. Her first big break came at age 17, when she was cast as an obsessive adolescent in Heavenly Creatures (1994). The film, based on the true story of two fantasy-gripped girls who commit a brutal murder, received modest distribution but was roundly praised by critics.

Still a relative unknown, Winslet attended a cattle call audition the next year for Ang Lee's Sense and Sensibility (1995). She made an immediate impression on the film's star, Emma Thompson, and beat out more than a hundred other hopefuls for the part of plucky Marianne Dashwood. Her efforts were rewarded with both a British Academy Award and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Winslet followed up with two more period pieces, playing the rebellious heroine in Jude (1996) and Ophelia in Kenneth Branagh's Hamlet (1996).

The role that transformed Winslet from art house attraction to international star was Rose DeWitt Bukater, the passionate, rosy-cheeked aristocrat in James Cameron's Titanic (1997). Young girls the world over both idolized and identified with Winslet, swooning over all that face time opposite heartthrob Leonardo DiCaprio and noting her refreshingly healthy, un-emaciated physique. Winslet's performance also garnered a Best Actress nomination, making her the youngest actress to ever receive two Academy nods.

After the swell of unexpected attention surrounding Titanic (1997), Winslet was eager to retreat into independent projects. Rumor has it that she turned down the lead roles in both Shakespeare in Love (1998) and Anna and the King (1999) in order to play adventurous soul searchers in Hideous Kinky (1998) and Holy Smoke (1999). The former cast her as a young single mother traveling through 1960s Morocco with her daughters in tow; the latter, as a zealous follower of a guru tricked into a "deprogramming" session in the Australian outback. The next year found her back in period dress as the Marquis de Sade's chambermaid and accomplice in Quills (2000). Kate holds the distinction of being the youngest actor ever honored with four Academy Award nominations (she received her fourth at age 29.)

Off camera, Winslet is known for her mischievous pranks and familial devotion. She has two sisters, Anna Winslet and Beth Winslet (both actresses), and a brother, Joss. In 1998, she married Jim Threapleton, whom she met on the set of Hideous Kinky (1998); the pair had a daughter, Mia, in October of 2000. They divorced in 2001. She later married director Sam Mendes in 2003 and has since given birth to their son Joe.

About: Miranda Richardson was born in England on March 3, 1958. She comes from Southport in Lancashire (near Liverpool), and has one sister, eight years her senior. Her parents and sister are not involved in the performing arts. At an early age she performed in school plays, having shown a talent and desire to "turn herself into" other people. She has referred to it as "an emotional fusion; you think yourself into them". This mimicry could be of school friends or film stars. She lef Miranda Richardson was born in England on March 3, 1958. At an early age she performed in school plays, having shown a talent and desire to "turn herself into" other people. She has referred to it as "an emotional fusion; you think yourself into them". This mimicry could be of school friends or film stars. She left school (Southport High School for Girls) at the age of 17, and originally intended becoming a vet. She also considered studying English literature in college, but decided to concentrate on drama and enrolled at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School (as did many well-known British actors). After three years she graduated and moved into repertory theatre. She became affiliated with the Library Theatre in Manchester in 1979, where she became an assistant stage manager. She obtained her Equity card, and after several regional productions, first appeared on the London stage (Moving at Queens Theatre) in 1981. British television roles soon followed, and then film. Since then, Miranda has moved into the international arena, and has made films in America, France and Spain. Television work (on both sides of the Atlantic) continues, as does some stage work. Her roles are diverse, but powerful and engaging. She has been quoted as stating "what I basically like is doing things I haven't done before" and this continually comes through in the variety of roles she has played in her career. She is also selective in the roles she takes, being uninterested in performing in the standard Hollywood fare, and preferring more offbeat roles. She was approached to play the Glenn Close role in Fatal Attraction (1987), but found it "regressive in its attitudes". Her attitude is summed up by a quote from an interview that appeared in the New York Times (Dec 27 1992): "I would rather do many small roles on TV, stage or film than one blockbuster that made me rich but had no acting. And if that's the choice I have to make, I think I've already made it". According to "1994 Current Biography Yearbook", she resides in South London with her two Siamese cats, Otis and Waldo. She has now moved to West London. Her hobbies include drawing, walking, gardening, fashion, falconry, and music. She, by her own admission, is a loner and lives rather modestly. An actor who studied with Ms Richardson at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre in the late 1970s described her as "a strong minded, specially gifted, rather pretty young woman who enjoys wearing jewelry. She wore toe rings, which in the late 1970s and especially in England, were a rarity and considered rather racy." He also remarked on her drive, even then, to be an actress of the highest caliber.

In a September/October 2009 interview with Little White Lies magazine, she said she wants to teach, do speech therapy, or work with autistic children, in which she also stated, "It was never my goal to be an actor".

[On being typecast in period pieces]: 'I'm sick of having red hair but people seem to like that aesthetic. I would really like to play someone contemporary as I've done lots of period pieces. I would love to play an American bimbo or a grimy Londoner. But I'm probably more suited in people's minds to playing a corseted victim. They think, 'Oh right, she's pale, she looks like she couldn't really fight back.'

About: Rachel Weisz is an Academy Award-winning English actress. She became well known after her roles in the Hollywood films, The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, and has since continued appearing in major film roles that, thankfully, no longer have to do with the Mummy series. Weisz (pronounced "Vice") was born into a Jewish family and grew up in Hampstead, London. Her mother, Edith Ruth, is a Vienna born Austrian psychotherapist and aspiring actress. Her father, George Weisz, is Rachel Weisz is an Academy Award-winning English actress.

Her father, George Weisz, is a Hungarian-born inventor whose family fled to England to escape Nazi persecution. Needless to say, Rachel is not a great fan of Nazis.

During her university years, Weisz appeared in various student productions, co-founding a student drama group called Cambridge Talking Tongues, which went on to win a Guardian Student Drama Award at the Edinburgh Festival for an improvised piece called Sight Possession. She would receive offers to appear on Who’s Line is it Anyway, until the producers realized that the piece was “not supposed to be funny.”

Her breakthrough role was that of Gilda in the 1995 London revival of Noel Coward’s 1933 play Design for Living at the Gielgud Theatre. As most actresses gracing the West End do, Weisz teamed up with Keanu Reeves for a Hollywood action movie. That movie would be Chain Reaction, and would set off a chain reaction of people leaving theaters en masse. Then she did a bunch of artsy fartsy films with European directors. Hoity toity. Then she broke out as the lead female role in The Mummy. And, just as one is instructed to do on the ride inspired by that film, Rachel “did not look back.” She’s starred in a number of films including The Mummy Returns, Enemy at the Gates, About a Boy, and Constantine. She does stage work too, but you’re probably not reading this for that.

She won a Golden Globe, a SAG Award, and an Academy Award for her role in The Constant Gardener. She was then invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, thereby reducing the average age of members to 112.

Weisz is engaged to American filmmaker Darren Aronofsky, who, it is our fantasy, courted Ms. Weisz with a screening of the infamous “double ended sex toy” scene from Requiem for a Dream. It is also in our fantasy that Ms. Weisz said, after the screening, “You had me at one dildo.”

It's Time to Return to Middle Earth With The Hobbit Trailer!

Christmas isn't even here yet, but we already have a 2012 holiday treat to look forward to in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Though that's 12 months off, the good news is that we have the first trailer right here! If you're expecting something of the same caliber as The Two Towers, you might be a little disappointed; this preview is low on action and high on introduction and backstory. We meet young Bilbo (Martin Freeman), who is just trying to live his hobbit life in Bag End when he's rudely interrupted by an adventure-seeking Gandalf (Ian McKellen). What follows is a quick introduction to his long list of travel companions, and then a brief glimpse at what's in store in the first part of the adventure.

As excited as I am for this movie, I can't help but feel a teensy bit underwhelmed by this trailer. The production value looks amazing of course, but I was hoping the preview would incite a little more excitement. That said, we've got a whole year to build up the hype, so in the meantime, watch the trailer after the jump.

Prometheus Trailer: Charlize Theron Gets Mixed Up in Some Alien Business

Whether or not Ridley Scott's Prometheus is an official prequel to the Alien films, the teaser trailer does a great job at evoking the eerie vibe of the franchise. Presented as an origin story before the first Alien takes place, Prometheus follows a group led by Charlize Theron to another planet in an attempt to discover the genesis of the human race. From the foreboding music and tagline ("The Search For Our Beginning Could Lead to Our End"), we know that they find something far more dangerous and horrifying — though you don't really get a glimpse of what's lurking in the galactic darkness.

Aside from Theron, the movie boasts a cast that includes Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Guy Pearce, and Patrick Wilson, but don't look for any of them in this teaser — you only get brief flashes of anyone set against the creepy space backdrop. Still, it's an interesting first taste of the thriller, so watch it after the jump.

William and Kate Make a Special Visit to Diana's Dearest Charity

Prince William and Kate Middleton made a special holiday visit to the headquarters of the Centrepoint charity in London this evening. The foundation is one that is quite special to William, as it was the organization most closely associated with the philanthropic works of his mother, Princess Diana. Diana was formerly Centrepoint's patron, an honor that William now holds. Kate is presently determining which foundations she will focus on, and it's been rumored that Centrepoint, which helps young homeless people, is near the top of her list. William and Kate took a cooking class at the center tonight and were snapped cutting shapes out of pastry.

Kate stepped out this evening in a Ralph Lauren sweater dress, but it was her strapless Alexander McQueen gown that turned heads at Monday's Sun Military Awards. Kate and William attended with his brother, Prince Harry, who spoke during the ceremony. Harry shared his excitement to go to Afghanistan for another tour of duty with his fellow servicemen and women.
