Cheryl Cole was looking forward to her collaboration with Gary Barlow
Cheryl Cole won't be performing her planned duet with Gary ?Barlow at the Children In Need Rocks Manchester event tomorrow.
The Geordie singer is resting after she was diagnosed with pharyngitis - a condition that's described by the US National Library Of Medicine as 'a sore throat, pain or scratchiness in the throat. It often makes it painful to swallow'.
'Cheryl's totally gutted as she was really looking forward to being on stage again, particularly for Children In Need,' says a friend.
'But there's nothing she can do about being ill.'
Concert organiser Gary will now have to find a replacement for Cheryl, 28, who'd been 'very excited' about the duet and had spent hours rehearsing with the Take That star.
'She hasn't done anything else this year, performance-wise,' Gary, 40, tells Metro.
'As soon as she heard it was Children In Need, she was like, "totally, I'm definitely in to it".'
