A woman has been arrested in Atlanta after she was found sleeping in a bedroom at a house rented by pop star Justin Bieber.

Sandy Springs police said 23-year-old Qianying Zhao was found at the home, owned by music producer Dallas Austin, on Wednesday.

She told officers she had come to attend Bieber's birthday party and entered the unoccupied home through an unlocked door.

But the 20-year-old Canadian singer's party was held at another location earlier this week.

Police said Zhao claimed she was a friend of Bieber, but she is believed to be one of millions of fans who follow him on Twitter.

Zhao faces a charge of criminal trespass. It was unknown if the Baby singer was at home at the time.

A number of celebrity guests were invited to the party including Alex Rodriguez, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz and members of the New Jersey Nets basketball team and New York Yankees baseball team, while singer Ashanti, baseball star C. C. Sabathia and director Spike Lee were all spotted arriving at the bash.

However, the security-conscious star had taken steps to ensure no unwanted guests made an appearance.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "No wonder security was tight. A lot of money has been pumped into Jay's club, with state of the art 165in video screens, and they weren't about to take any risks with gate-crashers.

"Security was phenomenal, with guests being frisked at the door and people going through metal detectors to make sure no weapons were brought in for the club's grand re-opening."

This isn't the first time Casper has taken to twitter to defend his relationship with Jennifer, previously writing that he finds people's idle speculation about their love confusing.

He has also been retweeting people who have defended the pair's romance, in particular comments from twitter user @Prettyboymiguel, who wrote: "I think @Caspersmart and @JLo make a really good couple but you know everyones gonna hate cuz when your happy or successful ppl have to hate.
